About

I’m Janet, or @JanetAronica on Twitter. I’m the community manager for a fun startup in Boston called oneforty. We’re an online community where people can review, discover and share social media tools. I chug the KoolAid pretty hard, spending my days fully immersed in the world of social media.

I grew up in Buffalo and graduated from St. John Fisher College. They gave me a BA in Communication/Journalism. I did six internships in college because I really liked unpaid labor and waitressing. Kidding! Internships are key, and they got me to where I am today.

That waitressing thing was my first blog. I did that in 2008, around the time I got on Twitter to meet more PR people and find my place in the industry. My “Twitter moment” was the humbling experience of being able to use the platform to build my personal network and create real relationships that led to friendships, advice, and ultimately the internship that moved me out to Boston. I’m always excited to explain and evangelize the opportunities of this communication tool, and getting to do that through blog posts and running the Twitter account and online forum for my job is one of my favorite parts of being a community manager.

This blog includes my thoughts on social media, community and tech. My random reflections on 20-something life may permeate the blog from time to time, but I promise it will always be funny and/or compelling. Thanks again for stopping by!
